HUGE INSURER LOOKS AT SMALL PRACTICE NEEDS
I was invited to
speak to senior management of the Health Care Service Corporation— which owns
the Blue Cross plans in Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, and Oklahoma — on the data
and technology needs of Texas physicians in general, and solo and small practice
in particular. The company, which covers more than 13 million members, convened
the strategy session on how the health care delivery system is changing due to
the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and market consolidation.
