2-PERCENT MEDICARE SEQUESTER CUT TO BEGIN APRIL 1
Medicare fee-for-service claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2013, will be reduced by 2 percent, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced. The cut is part of the across-the-board spending reduction required by the so-called federal budget sequestration, which took effect March 1 when Congress and the White House could not agree on any alternative spending cuts. Look for more details in the March 15 issue of TMA’s Action newsletter.
