COUNTY EXECS' MEETING BOLSTERS GRASSROOTS STRENGTH
I spend a lot of my time in meetings, but none are as satisfying or important as the gatherings I have with our county medical society execs. We share information in all directions — from the grassroots up, from Austin down, and best practices all around. The latest execs meeting didn’t disappoint. We engaged in strategic planning sessions on our legislative agenda and the multiple forces that are rearranging the health care marketplace in every Texas community. We discussed membership opportunities and plans for meeting TMA President Michael Speer’s 50,000-member challenge. And we talked about what new services our members need from organized medicine in Texas. I never forget — our strength flows from our great relationship with the counties.
