Ophthalmologist Keith Bourgeois, MD, is the new president of Harris County Medical Society. He replaces Guru Reddy, MD, a gastroenterologist. Internist Elizabeth Torres, MD, is the incoming president of the Houston Academy of Medicine. Humorist and former gubernatorial candidate Kinky Friedman was the keynote speaker. TMA President-Elect Michael Speer, MD, was master of ceremonies. Dr. Speer was the keynote speaker himself the night before at the Fort Bend Medical Society’s first meeting of the year.
