GOVERNOR PERRY APPOINTS THREE TO TEXAS MEDICAL BOARD
Belton surgeon William "Roy" Smythe, MD, is one of three members Gov. Rick Perry named to the Texas Medical Board. Dr. Smythe is medical director for Scott and White Healthcare's Office of Innovation and a professor and chair of surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. The governor also appointed Fort Worth businessman Carlos Gallardo and reappointed Paulette Southard, of Alice, a retired teacher and community volunteer.
