April's First Tuesdays at the Capitol brought more than 400 TMA physicians and medical students to Austin – the largest attendance ever. The morning began with a plea from Dr. Williams for physicians to protect their clinical autonomy – especially because the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals and the Texas Hospital Association have made it their mission to weaken it. I was especially proud of the hordes of medical students lobbying for their future by pushing for more funding for graduate medical education and loan repayment programs. Don’t miss our final white-coat lobby day on Tuesday, May 5.
